Why Ruck

Why build a task app now?

We’re building Ruck around a way of working where more of the thinking, planning and doing happens alongside agents. We believe that lets our productivity tools become simpler, more focused and leave some of the bullshit bloat and ceremony behind.

We still need to see what’s happening, keep useful context and share the work with others. We need to open a project, look around and notice things we wouldn’t have thought to ask our agents about. Knowing what to ask shouldn’t be a prerequisite for knowing what’s going on.

We want Ruck to be useful even when you spend very little time in it. Your agents can keep the work moving, and you can drop in, see where things stand and contribute.

That’s why we’re building Ruck. A clear, shared home for projects and tasks that people and agents can both use. Somewhere the work survives the conversation, the next person can pick it up, and you can see where things stand without having to ask.
